- Tiffany Liu is a passionate musician with over 20 years of experience playing the pipa. Originally from China, she won first place in the professional group of the Northeast Three Provinces Traditional Instrument Invitational Competition in 2013 before moving to Canada in 2016. Since then, Tiffany has introduced the pipa to many audiences on PEI, performing at events such as The Island Drive-In Festival, Canada Day 2020, and Illumination Festival of Canada Games 2023. She was rewarded with PEI Provincial Arts Grant in 2022 to create her first pipa album “Riding the Waves”. Tiffany’s musical horizons extend beyond the pipa, as she actively collaborates with dance, singing, percussion, and traditional instruments from other countries. With an open mind and a constant drive for exploration, Tiffany hopes to share the beauty of the pipa and Asian music culture with a wider audience.
