Carolyn Dawn Johnson - Stan Rogers Folk Festival - Canso, Nova Scotia, Canada

The life and career of hit singer-songwriter Carolyn Dawn Johnson has been a steady climb to the top, as she remains a staple in the country music industry, nearly 20 years after setting out to pursue her dreams in Nashville. With four of your own recordings, she has placed 15 singles in the Canadian Top 20 rankings over the years. She has shared stages and written for Patty Loveless, Mindy McCready, Kathy Mattea, Pam Tillis, SheDaisy, Lila McCann, Suzy Bogguss, Linda Davis, Jo Dee Messina and many more. To date, Johnson has racked up a JUNO, 17 CCMA’s, including Female Vocalist of the Year five times over. She was crowned the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Female Vocalist in 2002. The American Music Awards hailed her as Favorite New Country Artist the following year. This is Carolyn’s first visit to Stanfest, so we extend a huge Nova Scotia welcome.
