Folk Boot Camp
For 11 years Stanfest has brought together the best in folk music from
around the world. We know that many ofour audience members and
visitors are music enthusiasts and musicians as well. We felt it was a
natural evolution to create a developmental program where festival artists
could deliver interactive and demonstrative workshops. After a year's
planning, we are ready to launch the Stanfest Folk Boot Camp. Below
is a schedule of workshops.
The Boot Camp tent will be located on the main field, near the entrance
to the Crafter Village. We encourage you to reserve a spot in the workshops
that interest you, as most workshops will be capped at 10 participants.
You can register in advance by emailing Erika at erika@stanfest.com with
your name, contact information, workshop of interest and a brief overview of
your musical background. This will help the workshop leaders to know the
level of their attendees.
There is no charge to take part in these workshops. We thank the NS
Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage for their funding support. We
strongly encourage young players to participate as this is part of the
festival's youth cultural outreach activities.
